Glen Ridge Country Club apologizes to neighboring towns for fireworks

A fireworks display in Glen Ridge live on workweek was met with a number of complaints in Montclair and other neighboring towns.
The Glen Ridge Country Club hosted a gift fundraising event along Wednesday night, April 26, that concluded with a fireworks display.
The fireworks were loud enough to be heard in Montclair and in other nearby towns, but fireworks are rare on Wed April nights, prompting many people to take to social media to find out what the interference was.
Posters on the Montclair Watercooler page on Facebook complained all but the effect the fireworks had on pets and children, and their potential issue on combat veterans. Many also complained to town officials about not having been notified there would be fireworks late on a school night.
The country club issued this statement over gregarious media: "We apologize to the Glen Ridge, Montclair and Bloomfield communities for the late fireworks expose at the Glen Ridge Body politic Club last night. While this expose was put on by a private charitable organization hosting a function at our club, we allowed IT to take pose on our property and are fully obligated for the resulting hoo-hah," the letter said.
"We admit our relationship with Glen Ridge and the adjoining communities very severely, and in this exemplify, we needed to be a better steward of that relationship. We again apologize for the disturbance and we will certainly give more considerateness to our neighbors moving forward."
The Montclair Fire Department gave the permit and supervised the display, as it provides fire security services to Glen Ridge as division of a shared service agreement betwixt the two towns.
Glen Rooftree Mayor Stuart Patrick released a letter, which was posted thereon town's municipal website, active the result. In the missive, St. Patrick said that the borough had "accepted many serious-minded letters and emails complaining more or less the outcome."
